Alabama remains No. 1 in both polls

After beating Ole Miss 33-14 Saturday night, the Crimson Tide is holding steady atop the AP and Coaches' polls.

It's no surprise that Alabama is No. 1 in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY/Coaches' polls once again. The Crimson Tide was a unanimous No. 1 in the former, receiving all 60 first-place votes, and took 57 of 59 first-place votes in the latter following their 33-14 win over Ole Miss Saturday night.

Oregon remained No. 2 in both polls, while Florida State jumped LSU for the No. 3 spot in the AP. Georgia and South Carolina kept their Nos. 5-6 rankings, respectively, and will square off next weekend in Columbia, S.C.

Nationally, Alabama is also the top-ranked team in scoring defense, No. 2 in total defense and turnover margin, third in pass defense and fourth in rush defense.
