Alabama No. 1 in BCS for third straight week

After beating Mississippi State 38-7 Saturday, the Crimson Tide is still on top of the BCS standings. However, there was a bit of a shakeup among the rest of the Top 10.

Alabama is locked in that No. 1 spot in the BCS standings for the third straight week.

The Crimson Tide's most recent victim, Mississippi State, came to Tuscaloosa this weekend ranked No. 11, but after a 38-7 beat down, the Bulldogs fell four spots to No. 15.

There was some shakeup action in the Top 5. Florida lost to Georgia and Oregon (.9136) beat a weak Colorado team 70-14, so Kansas State (.9400) and Notre Dame (.9147) hopped the Ducks to come in behind Alabama at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

LSU (.8163) had a bye week, but due in part to the Gators' loss, the Tigers are now No. 5. They host the Tide this weekend for what's predicted to be an epic showdown.

An interesting and impressive stat courtesy of Charles Bloom, the head of SEC PR, is that this is the first time the conference is not 1-2 in the BCS since Nov. 13 of last year. SEC teams still makes up half the Top 10 though.
