Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner has been named one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, honoring college football's best defensive player.
Other finalists include South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o and Florida State defensive end Bjoern Werner.
The winner will be announced on Dec. 3.
Through 10 games, Milliner, a junior, has recorded 44 tackles (27 unassisted), 1 ½ sacks, two interceptions, 14 pass break-ups, 16 deflections, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.
Milliner is the fifth Alabama finalist up for this award, joining Antonio Langham (1993), DeMarco Ryans (2005), Terrence Cody (2009) and Mark Barron (2011).
