Tide QB Sets TD Record Against Tigers

A.J. McCarron finished the regular season with a sterling four-touchdown pass performance surpassing the school record of three against archrival Auburn in a 49-0 shellacking of the Tigers on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Statistically so far, the redshirt junior has recorded superlative numbers in winning the SEC's Western Division.

The redshirt junior quarterback has passed for 2507 yards, completed 67.2% of his throws with only two interceptions in 265 attempts along with a school record 25 touchdowns. A.J. McCarron has led the team to a second place all-time ranking with 468 points just nine points shy of the Alabama record of 477 achieved in 1973. Seven touchdowns in as many consecutive possessions punctuated the victory. He discusses some of the reasons for the success.
