McNeil done with visits, recruitment

Josh McNeil and his family always wanted to take additional official visits to compare other schools' process with Alabama's "to make sure" he was making the right decision. The plan has since changed.

Alabama four-star tight end commitment Josh McNeil has been pretty busy of late.

He finished up early at Durham (N.C.) Hillside High School and decided to further his career and work on his credits at Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York.

After a solid season at Milford, in which he found the end zone on multiple occasions for the prep school, McNeil returned to Durham to work on his physique in preparation for enrolling early at his school of choice.

It always appeared to be Alabama, but the family wanted him to take additional official visits to be sure his choice was the right one.

Clemson, Florida, Miami and Georgia were programs thrown out as possibilities - but nothing was ever scheduled.

McNeil did take an official to Tuscaloosa in early November, where he let BamaMag.com know he reaffirmed his pledge to Nick Saban and company. Still, he planned to see other schools at that point.

Then, late Tuesday night, McNeil informed us that he would not.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder remains on track to enroll at 'Bama in January and no other school will get him on campus. He will room with fellow tight end O.J. Howard and work towards early playing time for the 2013 season.
