Del Rio to walk-on at 'Bama

Luke Del Rio had a trio of scholarship offers on the table, but instead he elected to accept a preferred walk-on at the University of Alabama on Friday shortly after visiting the school.

Luke Del Rio visited Alabama in the middle the week with a preferred walk-on on the table, and 48 hours later he accepted it.

"Luke committed to Alabama today, Roll Tide!" said his mother.

Del Rio, a three-star quarterback out of Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian High, had been committed to Oklahoma State as of last week before de-committing.

He then took a trip to Oregon State, another school in contention that had offered, before making the trek to Tuscaloosa.

"I was leaning heavily to Oregon State until my mom made me take the visit to Alabama and I realized this was best fit for me," Del Rio told Scout.com's Greg Biggins.

The future Tider than took to Twitter, announcing the move.

Said Del Rio on the social media site, "Walking On at the University of Alabama # RollTide #blessed."

The quarterback is the 20th incoming player in the class of 2013, but doesn't count against scholarship numbers.
