Cook Commits

Jonathan Cook got the phone call he was waiting for on Saturday, and he jumped on it very soon after. He explained his flip from Nebraska to Alabama moments later.

What a Saturday for Jonathan Cook.

First, he leads Team Alabama to a win in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic with some big pass break-ups, including on the final chance for Mississippi, to go along with an interception he nearly returned for a touchdown earlier in the game.

As soon as the game ended, the three-star defensive back was met by Alabama assistant Kirby Smart. After the two embraced, Smart handed his cell phone to Cook.

"I talked to Nick Saban on the phone," he recalled. "He said I just got the offer...I feel pretty good about it. I thank God."

The next step was evident.

"It's my dream school!" he said with emotion after he committed to Saban."They are the number one school. Since I was little I've been watching them and it's who I've wanted to play for.

"God gave me a chance."

Cook was waiting on the offer and it all came so quickly.

"I'm speechless for real," he added. "All I can do is thank God!"

Cook is the 20th commitment in the class of 2013 for the Crimson Tide.
