Posey takes in practice

T.J. Posey has his fair share of offers, but there isn't a team he's more familiar with than Alabama. He was in Tuscaloosa again on Wednesday to take in spring practice.

Gadsden City (Ala.) High has produced several SEC-type talents in recent years, and the 2014 cycle is no different.

Leading that charge for the rising senior class is linebacker T.J. Posey, an early three-star prospect on FOX Sports NEXT/Scout.com. Though he's been there several times throughout his recruitment, he was back at Alabama for practice on Wednesday.

"I talked to Coach [Bobby] Williams and [Kirby] Smart," he said of his time in Tuscaloosa.

Posey has offers from SEC programs like Arkansas, Mississippi State and Tennessee among others - but will the defending champs join the party?

"They've been telling me to be patient and eventually they might," he said.

In this case, as with many others, it could come down to a camp performance for the 6-foot, 224-pounder. He'll be in attendance once again this summer.

"I've been going since the eight grade," he said with a laugh.

After meeting with the coaches an talking shop, Posey was able to sit in on special teams meeting and a defensive meeting.

Then it was time for practice.

"The defense looks like they can be very good and they are always physical," he said of the group. "I had my eyes on [Trey] DePriest and C.J. [Mosley].

"DePrietst is physical and can play a lot of packages and matchups. With C.J., he can play anything because he is so fast and athletic."

The entire day for the junior was just the latest of impressive trips to the Capstone.

"They have a good program and they are very disciplined and dialed in, working as one and they have a different breed of mental and physical toughness," he said of the system Nick Saban and crew run.

Posey is currently ranked as the No. 20 middle linebacker prospect in the class of 2014.
