Big Man On Tide Basketball Radar
Tarik Black is not the typical "one-and-done." The 6-9, 262-pound junior will be graduated from Memphis University this semester and has one year of eligibility remaining. Because he will have his degree, he will not have to sit out a year after transferring. His official release from Memphis prevents him from pursuing opportunities with any school in the newly-formed American Athletic Conference or any team on the 2013-14 Memphis Tigers schedule.
Black officially visited Alabama, Florida, Marquette, Memphis and Tennessee during the high school recruiting process.
Alabama, Duke, FSU, Kansas, Marquette, Miami, Tennessee and UMass are among the 20-plus schools showing interest now.
Black averaged 9.3 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, and recorded 129 blocks in three years for the Tigers starting in 60 out of 102 games - only 5 this past season.
