Quick hits: Camp wrap-up

Alabama hosted dozens and dozens of players from Sunday to Wednesday as a part of Nick Saban's initial 2013 football camp, and BamaMag.com caught up with 12 standouts that had plenty to say about their participation, recruitment and overall impression of Alabama.

Some of the top visitors to Alabama's initial summer camp chimed in on their experience in Tuscaloosa.

- 2015 Columbus (Ga.) Carver DE/OLB and Alabama commitment Mekhi Brown: "The camp was wild, I worked out as an outside linebacker. - Hialeah (Fla.) OL A'Lique Terry: "It's great, I love it here! Everything is what I expected and more. Camp is even better…all the coaches at camp know my name and I've been dominating 1-on-1s and they've been filming everything I do, so things are looking good."

- 2014 Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest LB Keith Holcombe: "It went well! They said I had a really good workout. Very impressed with the way I move. And they will be in touch very soon. I talked to Nuss, a little with Coach Steele and Coach Sisky. I loved it, You can tell they ask for everything and you give them everything."

- 2014 Cottondale (Ala.) Paul Bryant DB Patrick Porter: "I killed it! I ran a 4.43 forty (yard-dash) and I was precise in every drill. The coaches said I'm supposed to be hearing from them again sometime next week. I talked to Coach Nuss and Brown, they liked my speed and recovery skills, plus my ability to make plays."

- 2014 Montgomery (Ala.) Carver three-star DB Draequon Murphy: "It was good. I worked out on defense. I think I covered pretty well and showed I can play defense on the next level. There was a lot of great talent out there. The coaches said I'm supposed to call them for more."

- 2014 Phenix City (Ala.) Central DB Christian Campbell: "It went well. I talked to Kirby Smart, he was telling me and Tra (Traveon Samuel) that he'll be coming back by an he wants us to come to one of their games. I liked the tempo of everything because I'm used to it. I loved the facilities and everything."

- 2015 Phenix City (Ala.) Central RB/WR Traveon Samuel: "I did really well, working out as a receiver and a slot. The coaches said I had nice hands and ran good routes, so I worked out with the rising seniors. Coach Saban said my time is coming, and he usually doesn't recruiting 2015 guys right now, but he's still going to recruit me."

- 2014 Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Academy LB/TE Torrence Brown: "I worked out on both sides of the ball. I think I performed better at tight end because I caught just about every ball thrown to me! I talked to Coach Nuss and he just told me I did great at camp, but they want to see me perform in pads during the season before they offer me!"

- 2014 Montgomery (Ala.) Carver three-star DE Jon Michael Edwards: "It was really good, I talked to some of the coaches."

- 2016 Perry (Ga.) Westfield TE/WR Giles Amos: "It's great, great experience and everything. Best camp in the nation. The coaches moved me up to the older groups. I felt like I put in a pretty good performance."

- 2014 Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards DB Vosean Crumbie: "The coaches showed me a lot of love. I have only played corner for three months, and my 7-on-7 coach said I may get the offer."

- 2014 Morris (Ala.) Mortimer Jordan QB Devlin Hodges: "Had a really great day at Bama. Coach Nuss said I impressed both him and Coach Saban! Hope to do the same Friday at Ole Miss."
