Sorting the offers

Alabama hasn't been offering many prospects of late, but it landed another handful of commitments in the month of June. As July begins, find out where each and every offeree stands with the back-to-back defending national champions.

Alabama is up to 15 commitments in the class of 2014, and the number is poised to grow even more in the month of July. Between the elite Nike camp "The Opening," another Alabama high school camp from July 14-17 and plenty of unofficial visitors in between, UA is poised to push 20 commitments before the fall.

As for where things stand right now, the Crimson Tide is in on many new prospects that have long held offers, with significant movement from some committed elsewhere like Tashon Smallwood (pictured above) and Duke Dawson.

The leader category is always the one that generates the most buzz, and UA legacy Marlon Humphrey is back in that slot along with Tyler Luatua, whom many expect to ink Crimson in February.

We place each current prospect with an Alabama offer as of June 7 in one of the following categories:

1. Alabama is in the top position for nearly two dozen prospects, and that category will be called "Alabama leads for."

2. For those who view the Crimson Tide highly, though a clear leader has not been named, each will fall into the category marked "Alabama is in good shape for."

3. As the order continues, prospects that have various schools competing at a seemingly even rate, including Alabama, will be marked "Alabama is in the mix for."

4. When a prospect has a clear leader, or leaders, not including Alabama, they will be categorized in "Alabama is in an uphill battle for."

5. Prospects that have all but eliminated UA will be sorted into a category labeled "Alabama is pretty much out for."

6. Finally, those who are just hitting the recruiting scene in stride, or have not revealed much despite offers, will be sorted into the "It's still too early for" category.
