If It Happened, It's Over Now

Perhaps The Rainman would have noticed that LaMichael Fanning was not at Alabama's football practice Wednesday, but we did not. With about five minutes of viewing time, over 100 players, and our attention in any event focused on whether Kenny Bell was indeed back, we don't have the "savant" part of "idiot savant" to be able to pick up on everything.

Word on the street, though, was that Alabama defensive end LaMichael Fanning was absent from practice Wednesday, on the day that wide receiver Kenny Bell returned from a one-day absence. Fanning was in practice Thursday.

The Crimson Tide was back on the practice field Thursday for what Coach Nick Saban had said Tuesday would be the start of preparation for the Texas A&M game, scheduled for Saturday week, Sept. 14, in College Station. Bama has an open date this weekend.

The Tide was in full gear for Thursday's work. As usual, the healthy Alabama team did not appear to have any players in black (non-contact) jerseys other than quarterbacks.

Coach Saban was to meet with the media later this evening.
