Crimson Ticket begins

It has been awhile -- last spring -- since the flurry of activity that came with the announcement that Rivals would shut down. Fortunately, we were able to keep up and going, providing you with frequent stories throughout the off-season and the start of fall practice. Tuscaloosa-based, we have used the facilities of ‘BAMA Magazine (which has been covering Alabama athletics for 23 years) to provide stories and photographs.

We are at EVERY Alabama football practice and game and we believe our coverage of practices, games, and recruiting is unmatched in quality and quantity.

We appreciate your patience as we have worked with our new internet partners to develop what we believe will be the very finest internet network for college athletics coverage. We were courted by various networks and could have chosen any, and we chose Citadel Partners.

We are now ready to launch Crimson Ticket, our version of the Citadel Partners Insiders Pass, for subscription content. For now the Crimson Ticket includes our content and the content provided at other Citadel Partners sites, including UCLA, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State, and Auburn.

Later we will be adding more features. For now the cost is $4.95 per month or $59.95 for an annual subscription. (It should come as a surprise to no one that Internet economics dictate subscription sales.) We are working to build better message boards. And as soon as possible we will resume our popular chat program.

Even though we never stopped providing subscription content on, we have been providing that content at no cost. Those who were annual subscribers under the Rivals umbrella should have received an e-mail informing them of their subscriptions being honored by Citadel Partners and the procedure for reactivating that subscription. (Fortunately, Rivals did not charge anyone a monthly fee for the final month of Rivals service, and so there are no continuing monthly subscriptions.) If you were an annual subscriber under Rivals and did not receive an e-mail, it could be because you have changed your e-mail address. In that case, e-mail your name, e-mail address when you signed up under Rivals, and your former username and password to

We will continue to provide basic news coverage at no cost. However, for full coverage of the Crimson Tide, you'll want to have your Crimson Ticket. This will give you access to photo reports, columns, feature articles, football notebooks, and recruiting news, as well as the content of other Citadel Partners sites.

We will begin Crimson Ticket stories Wednesday. Crimson Ticket stories will be marked with a red star.

We look forward to a very exciting Alabama football season and hope you will join us with your Crimson Ticket!

To purchase your Crimson Ticket, all you need is a valid MasterCard or VISA.
