Alabama has been high on five-star Da'Shawn Hand's list since the senior began narrowing things down about a year ago, but his upcoming official visit to Tuscaloosa will be his first trip to the Capstone since spending several days at the Crimson Tide's camp in the summer of 2012.
Still, Nick Saban and company sit safely in the final three for the nation's No. 2 defensive end prospect and Woodbridge (Va.) native along with Michigan and Florida. The 6-foot-5, 262-pounder took in Ann Arbor in September on an official and will see Gainesville officially less than a week before his current commitment date of November 14.
Hand will headline the recruiting weekend as the Tide host rival Tennessee with a No. 1 ranking at stake in addition to poll position in the BCS standings, but it's no secret why there is only one official visitor on campus for the football staff to court.
Unofficially, there are dozens of fellow-elites heading to Tuscaloosa, including four-stars Charles Mosley, C.J. Hampton, Elisha Shaw and many others along with in-state commitments Keith Holcombe and Shaun Hamilton among others.
Former in-state commitment Bo Scarbrough, who is playing his senior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., will also make a return to Tuscaloosa for the first time since making the move to the Sunshine State, where he has made headlines just about every week with gaudy rushing performances. The four-star running back pledge is listed as a "soft verbal" commitment because of his two official visits taken to Ole Miss and Notre Dame of late.
Underclassmen standouts like four-star Drew Richmond and Kyle Phillips will make the trek from the Volunteer State for the game, and Vol legacy Keaton Anderson, a junior linebacker from Florence (Ala.) High with offers from both programs, will also be in attendance.
Several other standouts will be at Bryant-Denney Stadium for the 2:30 p.m. CST kickoff, so keep up with all the latest on the visitors in the premium member forums, or by clicking the link below.
