Jones Excites Crowd On Senior Day

Watch the Alabama wide receiver/return specialist address the media about the most exciting play of the game on Senior Day and more.

Christion Jones had practiced fielding rugby style punts all week in anticipation of the unique method employed by Chattanooga (8-4) punter Nick Pollard. Head Coach Nick Saban had instructed the return players to field the errant bouncing ball with two hands like a shortstop. He muffed the initial one with a fumble which was recovered by the Mocs at the Tide's 34-yard line with 2:21 gone in the first quarter. The fourth punt of the game by the visiting FCS school proved fatal as Jones caught the ball near the middle of the field at the 25-yard line. He juked defenders and proceeded down the near sideline escorted by a wave of Tide teammates. Wide receiver Kenny Bell had the final block clearing the path for the 75-yard touchdown return increasing the Alabama (11-0) lead to 21-0 in the second quarter. The number one ranked team stayed undefeated with a 49-0 shutout at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon.

Listen to the Alabama wide receiver/return specialist address the media about the most exciting play of the game on Senior Day and next week's future opponent in the Iron Bowl, the Auburn (10-1) Tigers. Earlier in the season, junior Christion Jones had his first career punt return, a crowd pleasing 72-yard dash to the end zone against Virginia Tech in the opening game. The last time Chattanooga had surrendered a punt return for a touchdown coincidentally was against Alabama in 2009 when Javier Arenas raced 66-yards for the score.
