As the senior class is two weeks to the day from putting pen to paper on national signing day, America's top juniors are experiencing college coaches at their schools as well.
"Yes sir, Alabama offered," he said on Wednesday. "I'm speechless.
"It's a great school and great program."
Alabama likes him as Scout.com does, as a safety prospect.
"They said I was very physical, great ball skills," Roudntree said.
The Evans (Ga.) Lakeside standout, who stands 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, hasn't yet been to Tuscaloosa. That should change in the next few months.
"I've never been ,but I plan on going in the spring," he said. "I don't know much (about the university), but I follow as much as I can about the coaches and players."
"It definitely puts Alabama up there," he said. "They are all being considered."
Roundtree says he's "very far" away from narrowing things down at this stage, but will learn more upon visiting several schools on his growing list.
"I'm just extremely honored," he said.
