Tide Commitments Worthy Of Parade

The Parade All-America Team, which has been produced since 1963 in the Sunday newspaper supplement, doesn't have much to do with recruiting. Because it is announced the Sunday before Signing Day, the list is more "where are they going?" than "who do we want?".

Of the 26 first team Parade All-America stars, a half dozen are committed to sign with Alabama on Wednesday. And that number could rise to as many as eight of the 26.

Those Parade All-America performers committed to the Crimson Tide are:

Offensive tackle Cameron Robinson, 6-6, 320, of West Monroe, La., who has already enrolled at Bama;

Offensive guard Ross Pierschbacher, 6-4, 290, of Cedar Falls, Iowa;

Defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, 6-4, 260, of Woodbridge, Va.;

Linebacker Christian Miller, 6-3, 225, of Columbia, S.C.;

Cornerback Tony Brown, 6-0, 185, of Beaumont, Texas, who is already enrolled at The University; and

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey, 6-1, 175, of Hoover.

Additionally, Alabama is in contention for two other first team selections:

Linebacker Rashaan Evans, 6-3, 220, of Auburn, who also is considering Auburn and UCLA and will announce Wednesday; and

Danien Mama, 6-4, 370, offensive guard from St. John Bosco in Bellflower, Calif., who also is considering USC and BYU and who also will announce his choice Wednesday.
