Saban to make history Wednesday?

Nick Saban already has six five-stars in the class of 2014, will he add to that number on national signing day in what will be the top class he's ever brought in?

After all the hype of the class of 2013 recruiting class, in which Nick Saban landed 14 of the Scout 100, it has come full circle once more.

Alabama landed six five-stars in the haul, the most in Saban's history since the inception of the Scout rankings, and now he has the chance to up that mark.

The Crimson Tide currently has class of 2014 verbal commitments from six five-star prospects -- Cameron Robinson, Tony Brown, Da'Shawn Hand, Bo Scarbrough, Marlon Humphrey and Dominick Jackson -- and it is in the running for several five-stars that are planning to make an announcement on Wednesday's annual event.

* Rashaan Evans | Auburn (Ala.) High | 6-foot-3, 218 lbs | No. 9 overall | No. 1 OLB

Evans is down to the pair of in-state SEC powers and UCLA. As of late Tuesday night, it was apparent that he hadn't yet come to a final decision. His 10 a.m. CST commitment on Wednesday will be among the most intriguing in the country.

* Chad Thomas | Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington | 6-foot-5, 240 lbs | No. 11 overall | No. 2 DE

Thomas has maintained his "solid" commitment to Miami throughout the process, even saying he'd ink with the 'Canes on Wednesday, but Tuesday was interesting as he seemed to be wavering publicly for the first time. Is he truly torn or is this a smokescreen?

* Malachi Dupre | River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian | 6-foot-3, 195 lbs | No. 27 overall | No. 2 WR

Dupre has been arguably the busiest recruit in the class of 2014, seeing five schools in a very short period of time down the stretch. LSU is his childhood favorite and the in-state school, but all indications are that the 'Noles and Tide closed strong here, too.

* Damien Mama | Bellflower (Calid.) St. John Bosco | 6-foot-4, 370 lbs | No. 39 overall | No. 2 OG

USC, BYU and Alabama will battle it out for the top offensive lineman in California. The in-state school is the perceived favorite, but Mama enjoyed his official visit to Alabama in November.
