Baseball, Softball Stay Atop SEC

Four Southeastern Conference baseball teams went into Sunday play with league-leading 5-3 records, and all four – including Alabama – took Sunday wins to maintain their leads in SEC standings. Bama's softball team continues to lead the conference.

Alabama is coming off sweeps in both baseball and softball. The Crimson Tide baseball team took three wins over previously ninth-ranked Ole Miss, while the Bama softball team won three from LSU.

In the SEC, baseball is divided into two divisions. In softball, all 13 teams (Vanderbilt doesn't sponsor softball) make up the league standings.

Interesting note: SEC baseball power LSU is last in the SEC West at 3-5-1. Interesting note No. 2: In softball, Florida was ranked first in the nation 10 days ago. Today the Gators are 5-6 in conference play.

In baseball, Alabama and Mississippi State are 6-3 and leading the SEC Western Division, while Florida and South Carolina lead the East with 6-3 records.
