Alabama Faces Kentucky In SEC Tournament

For much of the season, Alabama was the Southeastern Conference baseball leader. A tough closing stretch left the Crimson Tide as the number eight seed in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament that begins Tuesday at the Hoover Met in suburban Birmingham.

Following Saturday SEC games, including Alabama's 2-1 win over Mississippi State, the Crimson Tide is in the Tuesday single elimination round of the tournament. Bama will play Kentucky – the number nine seed – at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Also in Tuesday elimination games are No. 6 Vanderbilt against No. 11 Tennessee at 9:30 a.m., followed by No. 7 Arkansas vs. No. 10 Texas A&M. Following the Tide-Wildcats game will be No. 5 Mississippi State against No. 12 Georgia.

Alabama's game will be televised regionally on CSS.

If Alabama wins Tuesday, the Tide will go into the double elimination bracket and will face top seed Florida at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Ole Miss is the second seed, LSU third, and South Carolina fourth.

The tournament concludes with the championship game beginning at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25.
