Saban, Kiffin offer Dormady

Alabama has missed out on several top quarterbacks in the 2015 cycle after losing a five-star, but it officially jumped in the race for one of the hottest arms in America on Tuesday evening with an offer out to three-star Quinten Dormady. The Texan explains his situation after the news, including when a decision is expected. three-star quarterback Quinten Dormady visited Alabama in mid-March in order to take in the campus and a spring football practice under Nick Saban, and he liked what he saw. He told BamaMag that it was "a great visit" as he learned plenty about Tuscaloosa and the way the football program operates. there

He then mentioned possibly of returning in the summer for camp, in order to compete for an offer. With several offers coming in between then and now, his camp plans shuffled, but the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder was able to make it for a one-day event all day Tuesday.

The work paid off.

"I got offered by 'Bama today," Dormady said Tuesday evening. "I talked with Saban and threw in a workout for him and Coach [Lane] Kiffin.

"They really liked me. They said I would fit in there."

Adding the Crimson Tide to a list that already had Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, TCU, Oklahoma State and others on it, there is plenty of evaluation to take place for the Boerne (Tex.) signal-caller and his family.

"I'm excited about this offer," he said of Alabama. "Now, we'll see how the next couple weeks goes and see what's in store for my future.

"I will take visits to all the schools next week and go from there. Everyone is still in it right now."

After the trips and more time to digest all of the information, fits and possibilities, expect Dormady and company to reveal a destination within the next eight weeks or so.

"I will make a choice before August for sure," he said. "Before my season, so I can focus on my senior year."

Scout currently tabs Dormady -- who sat out 2013 with an injury after a breakout 2012 campaign when he threw for more than 3,300 yards and 30 touchdowns as a sophomore -- as the No. 31 passer in the class of 2015.
