What Ryan Johnson hoping to get out of the most recent trip to Ole Miss?
"I really wanted to get to know the (OM) coaches," Johnson said. "I wanted to spend some time with them and learn how they coach. That is really going to be important to me. I am going to be here for five years, hopefully. I want to know who is coaching me and how they coach."
The 6' 6", 270-pound offensive tackle spent a lot of time with the offensive line position coach at Ole Miss.
"I really like coach (Matt) Luke, and I like how he coaches. I really like the atmosphere here. I got to talk to coach (Freeze) today. Not for a long time, but I really like him. We have also developed a real good relationship."
What got Ryan interested in Ole Miss?
"I have always followed them on tv and have always watched them, but what got me really interested in them is when they came to see me and talked to me in person. They came to me first. That is how I got interested in Ole Miss."
What are some of the things that stand out about Ole Miss?
"The most important thing that stands out about Ole Miss is that they are a faith based program. Coming from BA (Brentwood Aca), a faith based school, that is extremely important to me. God is very important to me, and I want to make sure that I go to a school that has a good Christian base environment around their program."
Who are the other colleges that are heavily involved?
"Tennessee obviously. Ole Miss, MSU, Kansas State, Alabama, Notre Dame,
Stanford is recruiting me. Auburn and Georgia. Florida came by a couple weeks
ago. Pretty much all of the SEC schools are recruiting me."
Who all has offered?
"Ole Miss and Tennessee obviously. MSU and Kansas State have also offered."
What stands out about Tennessee?
"I really like that their fans are really supportive. It seems like it is a family up there. They are really close and really supportive. Their coaches and players have a great relationship with one another too."
Johnson is not as familiar with MSU but had this to say about the Dogs.
"I went down there once and did not get to see them practice, but I got to talk to their coaches. I really like their coaches. I liked their facilities and got to walk around and see some of their dorms. I really like their campus."
Where does the Nashville resident visit next?
"I plan on going to Tennessee and Alabama and I'm hoping to go to a couple more places, but I am not sure right now."
What are Ryan's strengths on the field?
"A lot of the coaches have been saying they like my size and speed. They also like my long arms and quickness."
