Cauley Travels Up The Leader Board

Bud Cauley had a productive third round at the Travelers Championship Saturday afternoon. The four-year veteran is tied for seventh at -9, four strokes behind the tournament leader, Ryan Moore (-13). Cauley finished the afternoon with a 68 (-2).

Cauley started slowly, missing birdie putt opportunities at holes 2 (6'8") and 6 (11'7") but rallied at the 8th (11'8") and 9th (17'8") with consecutive birdies. Near misses bookended a successful pair of consecutive birdie putts at Nos. 13 (1'7") and 14 (15'10"). He missed makeable attempts on the 11th (14'7") and 15th (9'8"). Cauley recorded a bogey on the 5th and 7th holes.

He has one eagle (15), 13 birdies (2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 9, 13, 13, 14, 14, 17, 18), 6 bogeys (2, 5, 7, 7, 16, 18) and one double-bogey through 54 holes. Three round scores of 63, 70 and 68 leave Cauley in a prime position to surpass his season's best performance, a tie for 11th place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April. Consistent putting and fairway accuracy will determine the fourth round finish as weather conditions are expected to be perfect on Sunday – sunny, high of 80 degrees with variable winds of 4-8 mph.

Bud Cauley is scheduled to tee-off on Sunday for the final round at 1:10 PM ET.
