Five-star Tide pledges in action

Alabama was one of the big winners at Nike's The Opening this past week, due in large part to the ascent of quarterback commitment Blake Barnett and wide receiver verbal Calvin Ridley. Scout has footage of each from the event, a small reason each is now a Scout five-star.

Coming into Nike's annul event, Calvin Ridley was a Scout 100 cornerback projection by Scout.com, as a four-star and the No. 59 overall talent in the class of 2015.

Blake Barnett was the No. 7 quarterback, and just outside the Scout 100 overall.

Both Alabama commitments were on the same 7on team, each helping to lead Apocalypse to the championship crown to conclude the event, and both took home hardware in the process. Ridley was named tournament MVP and Barnett took home Elite 11 MVP honors.

Now, each is also a Scout five-star prospect. A glimpse as to why can be found below:

Calvin Ridley | No. 2 WR | No. 16 overall

Blake Barnett | No. 3 QB | No. 21 overall
