It Wasn’t As Easy As It Looked Last Week

Sometimes things look so easy, but then strange things begin to happen. That was the case for the Almost Perfect Picks panel last week. For instance, who would believe that Florida could be so self-destructive? We won’t be fooled by the Gators again.

The APP was pretty good on the Alabama game, even though the picked score – 35-21 – was nothing like the final of Bama 59, Texas A&M 0. Still, that was one of four straight up wins in the six Southeastern Conference games predicted last week.

That game also happened to be a winner against the line and insofar as the predicted over-under. The line was 11 ½ -- that was easy --and the over-under was 61 ½ -- barely enough.

For the week, the APP was 4-2 straight up and 5-5 in the gambling possibilities.

For the year, the straight up picks look pretty good, but almost anyone could do that well or better at 57-12. In the gambling opportunities, it’s still a plus, but barely at 62-41.

This week should be much better.
