Chris Black Was Ready For Chance To Shine

BamaMag caught up with Chris Black following his career high performance against Western Carolina on Saturday.

Reserve redshirt sophomore wide receiver Chris Black has been preparing for the moment to be a favorite option of the Alabama (10-1, 6-1, No. 1) quarterback. Amari Cooper’s second quarter injury provided the Jacksonville (Fla.) native a chance to shine. He matched his career best in receptions with six, set last season in a win over Georgia State. He established a new high in yardage with 101 in the Tide’s 48-14 Homecoming victory over Western Carolina (7-5, 5-2). His longest reception of the day was a fourth quarter 26-yard pass from Jacob Coker.

Watch Black address the media. He touches on the Iron Bowl game next week and analyzes the play of the younger receivers and explains the chemistry developed with backup quarterback Coker.
