The Crimson Tide men’s basketball team returned home Tuesday night for a game against the University of South Florida (5-2, 0-0) at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. Alabama defeated the American Athletic Conference opponent 82-71.
A balanced offensive attack proved to be successful with four players in double figures. Bama attempted 25 of the 63 field goal attempts from the three-point line. Half of the eight drained treys were by the evening’s two leading scorers for the Tide. Junior transfer (Tulane) guard Ricky Tarrant and senior guard Rodney Cooper scored 20 and 17 points respectively to pace Alabama (5-1, 0-0). Head Coach Anthony Grant and the top point producing tandem addressed the media after the 11-point victory.
