Recruiting Ripple: Charlot Decommits

Alabama commitment Daylon Charlot has long debated between home-state LSU and the school he had been committed to since February, Alabama. On Sunday evening, Scout confirmed that the four-star wide receiver plans on backing off of his UA pledge before making a final decision between the two. BamaMag breaks down the ramifications of the move for its members.

Patterson (La.) wide receiver prospect Daylon Charlot is making a move that will surprise few on Monday, backing off of his Alabama commitment, though it doesn’t lessen the severity of it for both home-state LSU and the Crimson Tide.

Still to consider UA until a final decision is made, the four-star senior is coming off of a weekend official visit to Baton Rouge, a place he has been to a handful of times this fall. Yet to take a visit to Tuscaloosa, though an official visit is likely in the next six weeks, it seems as if Alabama is the program chasing for what would be a recommitment to the class of 2015.

BamaMag members have been aware of the fluid situation for some time, and can get the detailed ramifications on what the move means for Alabama’s chances to get Charlot back on the commitment list, what other targets are more likely to join the class, how many the Tide will bring in and much more.
