Scout Spotlight: LB Adonis Thomas

Alabama snagged the commitment of four-star linebacker Adonis Thomas last week, and Scout has exclusive video of the priority target talking about his goals, what he brings to the table and so much more. Get inside for Thomas' Scout Spotlight.

Alabama has been hot over the last eights days on the recruiting trail.

But before that point, things had been cool on the commitment front. In fact, Joshua McMillon's August 22 commitment was the last verbal Nick Saban and company secured before the week brought the Crimson Tide pledges from one-time Florida commit Adonis Thomas and Matt Womack, who flipped his commitment from LSU on Sunday.

Thomas, a 6-foot-3, 219-pound outside linebacker projection, moved to inside linebacker as a senior at Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett High School. The move has proven his versatility and answered some of the questions within his game in the process. Alabama prioritized him even before his original commitment on August 1. However, Will Muschamp and the Gators had long been in on him, and despite that late push from the Crimson Tide, Florida won out on that day. But it wasn't easy for Thomas, who didn't know his destination until the morning of his ceremony. Alabama was heavy on his mind and was the clear favorite once Florida's staff and its future became in question.

On December 8, both Nick Saban and Kirby Smart had an in-home visit with the senior, and they didn't leave the Atlanta area without Thomas providing his oral pledge to the Tide. Not expected to make another change, Scout's No. 278 overall prospect and four-star is focused on his future at Alabama, where he is expected to initially play inside linebacker. An official visit to Tuscaloosa is scheduled for the weekend of January 16.

The Scout network has analysts all over the country seeing the nation's top football prospects, and Thomas was among them in the revolutionary video feature.
