Tide Recruiting Trend Meter: February 3

National signing day is a mere few hours away, as Alabama looks to hold onto its No. 1 class on Scout.com. National letters of intent can come in as early as 7 a.m. on Wednesday, but here's where Alabama stands just before things become official.

Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. is off the board, committing to Auburn on Tuesday, leaving one less possibility for Alabama on national signing day.

BamaMag.com analyzes where each of Alabama’s remaining targets stand coming down the stretch, with just hours before things become official.

Offense

TREND:

The Latest: Auburn is the trendy school late in the game for the five-star, with Alabama likely No. 3 heading into the big day. What is interesting about Godwin's timing, is that he isn't announcing until 5:00 p.m. CST Wednesday. This leaves a lot of time for each coaching staff to feel as anxious as ever for one of America's best. Godwin hosted both Auburn and Georgia in the last five days, with promising reports coming from each meeting.

TREND:

The Latest: An even trend remains great news for Alabama. Charlot didn't take his last scheduled official visit, which was to Miami, and he'll be making a final public decision between homestate LSU and the Crimson Tide. Hootie Jones 2.0 in the making? BamaMag says yes.

TREND:

The Latest: Hill has been an interesting prospect to follow over the last 48 hours, and it all culminates on Wednesday with a final decision. As of Tuesday afternoon, the four-star told BamaMag that a final decision was made, though the word he used to describe his last few days was, "crazy." Ohio State may have led last week, but Alabama closed the gap of late with a flurry of late interest. Was it enough for a signature, though?

TREND:

The Latest: Like Hill, Prince has informed the network that a decision has been made, which probably isn't the best news for UA fans. In likely the program's last hope for a left tackle candidate in the class, Prince seems to be trending towards the Big 10 with Urban Meyer and company appearing to be the most confident heading into the big day.

TREND:

The Latest: Richmond made a lot of noise when he elected to visit Tennessee over the weekend, and the bad news for 'Bama was that it meant he skipped the late trip to Tuscaloosa all together. While the Crimson Tide faded, Ole Miss has as well especially with the news of him backing off of his Rebel pledge soon after the UT trip. Hugh Freeze and company are trying to rally, but it may be too late for the pursuit of Richmond.

TREND:

The Latest: While a final decision has not been reached, per Scout sources, Alabama looks to be on the outside looking in late in the game. Michigan's primary competition is now apparently UCLA, which hosted him for an official visit two weekends ago.

Defense

TREND:

The Latest: Jefferson has played the recruiting game as well as any prospect in recent memory has, and the result is four coaching staffs feeling good about their chances for his signature tomorrow. LSU was the fifth school on his list, and the one he visited over the weekend, but the Tigers are no longer in the running. Listed favorite Ole Miss, hometown Florida and the Iron Bowl rivals remain. A source close to the five-star admits that leaving home will be a tough task, as the Gators seem likely to keep the semi-local product in the fold in what could be the banner signee for Jim McElwain's first haul. But Alabama has been in it all the way and never let up for the priority target all the way through.
