4-star TE on 'Bama: 'They love me'

Alabama has been on an offer-binge this week, and it included a reaffirmed offer to four-star tight end Naseir Upshur. The four-star admits he could see himself in Tuscaloosa.

Among the bevy of offers Alabama has recently sent out since national signing day 2014, was the reaffirmed extension to Naseir Upshur.

The news came on Friday for the Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep four-star, who reports being in touch with the Crimson Tide coaching staff much more of late and particularly Scout's 2015 Recruiter of the Year.

"Just talked to them, been talking to them for the last couple of days," he said. "Mario Cristobal. He's a very cool coach, we met before a couple of times."

Alabama covets the Philly product as a tight end prospect, he says.

"They love me," Upshur said. "They want me to come visit, I'll try this spring. It's a great program. I visited the campus before, it was great as well.

"I could see myself being apart of the program."

Though excited about Nick Saban's program, the recruiting process is still in the early stages for the Scout300 threat. Upshur is working on a top 15 list, and doesn't yet field any favorites among the potential group. It spans through several conferences, as he admits location won't play a major role in the evaluation process.

Scout currently pegs the junior as the No. 11 tight end prospect in the class of 2016, and No. 205 regardless of position.

Alabama has offered three additional undeclared tight ends to date in fellow four-stars Kaden Smith, Charlie Woerner and Nick Eubanks.
