Alabama Gymasts Get Win At Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 5 Alabama gymnastics team beat No. 11 Georgia, 197.675-196.825 Friday night in Athens, Ga. in front of 9,978 fans.

With the meet in the balance, Alabama closed out the night with a 49.350 on the balance beam, paced by a 9.95 from senior Kaitlyn Clark and a 9.925 from sophomore Keely McNeer. Clark won the all-around with a career-best 39.625 while junior Lauren Beers was second with a 39.600. Senior Kayla Williams won the vault, Beers won the uneven bars, Clark won the balance beam and Clark and Beers shared top honors on the floor exercise.

Alabama started off with a 49.375 on the uneven bars, led by Beers’ 9.95 in the anchor position. On the vault, a season-best 9.95 from senior Kayla Williams pushed the Tide to a 49.425. Beers and Clark dished out back-to-back 9.95s to close out Alabama’s floor exercise rotation, leading to a season-best 49.525.
