Tide Women's Golf 11th At Rucker

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Alabama women's golf team wrapped up play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Sunday with a final round 15-over 299 to finish at 51-over 903 for the tournament, hosted at the par-71, 6,142-yard Pete Dye Course at the Long Cove Club.

After the dust settled on Sunday, Alabama finished 11th in the ultra-competitive Darius Rucker Intercollegiate field. The Crimson Tide defeated two top-20 opponents.

Emma Talley collected her 11th collegiate top-10 finish at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Talley shot a 1-over 72 in the final round to finish at 5-over 218 and tied for 10th. The junior also compiled her lowest 54-hole total at the Long Cove Club with her 218, besting the 220 she shot as a freshman.

Junior Janie Jackson finished tied for 30th at 12-over 225 after a final round 77. Freshman Lakareber Abe dramatically improved from her first two rounds to shoot a 4-over 75 on Sunday. She finished 85th with a three-day score of 30-over 243.

Also counting on the final day of play was Mia Landegren who finished tied for 39th. Landegren carded a 4-over 75 and tallied a 13-over 226 for the tournament. Cammie Gray’s 80 was dropped for the final round. Gray finished tied for 81st (28-over 241).

Duke took home top team honors with a 6-over 858, while LSU finished tied with Southern California for second at 15-over 867.

Alabama will return to action Friday, March 27, at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga.
