Nick Saban Visits Pensacola BAMA Club

Nick Saban was the guest of honor at the Pensacola BAMA Club gathering on Tuesday evening. The Alabama head coach traveled to the University of West Florida Field House to participate in a town hall Q&A session. Celebrated former University of Alabama golfer Jerry Pate was the host and moderator for the event.

Pate was instrumental in securing an appearance from Alabama Coach Nick Saban. According to reports, he had visited Pensacola supporters just once as the Tide coach prior to the Tuesday affair. All proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction items benefited The University of Alabama's local chapter's endowment scholarship.

Trent Richardson, former Bama All-America running back and the school's only Doak Walker Award winner, surprised his former coach by attending the sold-out function. The Pensacola native and Escambia (Fla.) High School alumnus was the third overall choice in the 2012 NFL Draft. Originally selected by the Cleveland Browns and traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2013, he is scheduled to report to the Oakland Raiders training camp in Napa, Calif., this season.
