Scout was on-hand for Thursday’s season opener for Alabama commitment Shawndarius Jennings, as Dadeville (Ala.) traveled to Reeltown (Ala.) for an early rivalry game. The Tigers, led by Jennings as a quarterback, were in control from the jump and cruised to a 40-13 win.
Recruited as a safety and potentially a linebacker at the next level, the versatile Jennings played sparingly on defense while throwing for two scores after running to a touchdown to break the ice.
Jennings, who is nursing a sore hamstring while assuming the quarterback duties from Alabama baseball commitment Cal Jones, threw for 146 yards and the two scores while adding a handful of stops on defense. He remains solid in his Crimson Tide commitment and doesn't currently have plans to visit any other college campuses.
