The top player in the state of Alabama has a new leader in his recruitment.
Davis, along with more than a dozen additional top uncommitted recruits, took in the Crimson Tide's championship parade and UA's hoops game against LSU during the official visit weekend. He said he had his eyes opened on the trip when looking at the academic side of the equation despite living less than 30 miles from campus and being a legacy prospect.
The five-star was also able to spend time with his potential future position coach.
"Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt is going to be the linebacker coach," he said. "We sat down and watched a little film. He recruited me at Georgia, he's the one who offered me at Georgia. He's just a great guy. I asked a lot of players about him and they say he's a great coach.
"We're just going to keep on maintaining the relationship and see how things go come signing day."
Davis will visit Auburn officially next weekend before a February 3 decision. He expects Auburn, Alabama and Notre Dame to visit with him this coming week.
