Four-star Florence safety J'Marick Woods says he knows where he stands with Alabama following Saturday visit

One of the highest-rated in-state prospects on campus Saturday at Alabama was four-star Florence safety J'Marick Woods, who learned exactly where the Crimson Tide stands with him while in town.

With a former teammate and "brother" already on the roster, Florence (Ala.) four-star junior J'Marick Woods is quite familiar with Alabama. Spending some time with Keaton Anderson for a portion of the day Saturday, the big safety was in town for an elite junior day event.

Over the course of the day he says he learned what he had to do to add UA to the offer list, one already featuring MichiganFloridaDuke and many others.

"It was solid," he said of the trip. "I know where I stand with them. They'll be down in the spring to see me and I'll have to go to camp to get the offer.

"They just want to see me do more man-to-man (coverage), with the slot, because I didn't do that a lot this year."

Woods, who is closing in on a few unamed programs in his recruitment, says the process may be over for him by the time summer camp dates begin.

"I plan on releasing a top fve or top three sometime before spring practice," he said. "I want to commit before the season starts because I'll be an early enrollee. I haven't visited some of those places yet, so we will have to see how it goes."

With a visit to Duke next week already set, trips to Florida, Penn State, Virginia Tech and others could be on deck soon after. Woods didn't rule out returning to Tuscaloosa to potentially pair with Anderson on the college level like they did at the prep level.

On this trip he was able to meet his potential position coach, too.

"It's always a solid time at 'Bama," he said. "I met with Coach (Derrick) Ansley, him being there was new. He's just like one of my coaches I have now. He's a cool dude."
