Gymnastics scores are deceiving. In most calculations there would not be much difference in 197.655 and 196.115, but that’s the difference in regular season Regional Qualifying Scores (RQS) of the top-seeded Florida team and the bottom-seed Kentucky squad for the upcoming Southeastern Conference Championship Meet.
Alabama is the third seed for the SEC meet on Saturday at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Ark. The Crimson Tide had a 197.325 RQS, just behind LSU’s 197.555.
Following Florida, LSU, and Alabama in the seeding are Auburn (197.130 RQS), Georgia (196.990, Arkansas (196.505), Missouri (196.325), and Kentucky.
Coach Dana Duckworth’s Crimson Tide will participate in the second session beginning at 5 p.m. CDT with the top four seeds. Bama’s rotation will be Beam, Floor, Vault, Bars. The lower four seeds will compete at 1 p.m.
