Watch Alabama QB Blake Barnett get in work with George Whitfield in California

The University of Alabama is on Spring Break but several football players have been putting in extra work ahead of practices resuming Monday. Blake Barnett is one of them, spending the back-end of his time off with George Whitfield.

The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked off spring practice on March 11 before 10 days off as the university held Spring Break. But many know Nick Saban uses the model as a preview of things to come for his football players, serving almost as a warning to remind them to stay in shape during the time off.

Many have been receptive and video of workouts as O.J. HowardDavid Cornwell and Minkah Fitzpatrick have provided a few video examples on social media. Quarterback Blake Barnett is also making sure to stay sharp during the layoff despite being back home in California. He's working with George Whitfield before getting back to 'Bama.

BamaMag has learned there have been morning and evening workouts between Barnett and Whitfield the back-half of the week, including beach sessions to hone the craft. Video obtained was from Thursday's initial session on the football field (above).
