Alabama LB Tim Williams Wins Most Valuable Lineman of A-Day Game Award

Tim Williams earned the Dwight Stephenson Most Valuable Lineman Award competing for the White team in the annual A-Day Spring Game on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. A pair of sacks (-17 yards) highlighted his dominating performance. He was disruptive all afternoon wreaking havoc in the backfield finishing with a game high three quarterback pressures.

Nick Saban employs a complicated defense occasionally causing his own players to hesitate in their execution.  SEC and non-conference foes were introduced to the extraordinary edge rusher last fall. Williams is a defensive demon to the delight of Alabama fans specializing in negative plays.  Opposing quarterbacks and running backs have not seen the defender pause.  The senior linebacker registered 19 tackles of which 12.5 were for loss (-92) including 10.5 sacks (-78).  Tim Williams is poised to improve on those 2015 season totals and become an every down contributor.  He addressed the spring and pre-season goals at the A-Day Game press conference following the 7-3 victory by the White team.
