Alabama Basketball Coach Avery Johnson had an extravaganza presentation of the Crimson Tide’s upcoming non-conference basketball schedule at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in suburban Birmingham. The schedule features games against Texas, Dayton, and Clemson and there will be games in Birmingham (Clemson) and Huntsville (Arkansas State).
Johnson on schedule philosophy. “We have to have a balanced schedule. We can’t play five top 10 teams and we can’t play 10 teams with a 300 RPI. We thought we did a good job last year. People thought that schedule was too tough. But we won some games and even in some losses I think it helped us.”
Here are the games as announced by members of the 2016-17 Alabama team:
Daniel Giddens, transfer redshirt soph, announced exhibition game – Nov. 3, Faulkner University coached by Scott Sanderson, son of Wimp Sanderson (who was on hand. Wimp said he would officiate that game).
