West Coast Freshman OT Jonah Williams Represents Alabama Well

Jonah Williams came out of the Sacramento area (Folsom HS) with a reputation as large as the state of California. Pundits in the region claimed he was the best player regardless of position in 35-plus years. The early January enrollee lived up to the generous claims.

He received the double honor of being named a Freshman All-American and to the SEC All-Freshman Team.  The 6-5, 296 pound Georgia native contributed to Alabama (no. 1, 13-0) being the 14th best rushing team (245.0 ypg) in the nation and number two in the league.  Jonah Williams had 27 knockdown blocks this past season.  Eight times he graded out as the Offensive Player of the Week by the Tide coaching staff.

BamaMag.com visited with the outstanding right tackle during Thursday’s media day at the Georgia Dome as the Tide prepares to face Washington (no. 4, 12-1) in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
