Alabama WR/KR/DB Has Talent to Change Game

Trevon Diggs came out of The Avalon School in Gaithersburg, MD with a reputation for being a versatile athlete. He has seen action with the Tide on offense as a wide receiver, defensive back and as a punt/ kickoff return man.

Alabama (no. 1, 14-0) values players with multiple skills and promotes their participation in all areas.  Trevon Diggs (6-2, 197 pounds) has returned seven kickoffs for 166 yards (23.7) with a long of 41 yards.  He has returned 12 punts for 127 yards (10.6) with a long of 47.  Diggs has 11 receptions for 88 yards (8.0) with a long of 17 yards and one touchdown.  He recorded five tackles and was named one of the special teams players of the week by the Tide coaching staff for his efforts against Chattanooga and Florida.

BamaMag.com spoke with the talented true freshman on Media Day for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game held at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.  One of the topics broached in the conversation was the issues related to his punt returning duties.  He also mentioned a secret skill not yet revealed to opponents.  Diggs could be a game changer against Clemson (no. 2, 13-1) as the Tide faces the Tigers Monday evening at Raymond James Stadium in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game from Tampa.
