Alabama has faced five of other nine teams in nation’s gymnastics top 10

It will be Senior Night when Alabama hosts Iowa State Friday

A big road victory at Georgia Sunday kept Alabama gymnastics at sixth in the nation this week as the top six remained unchanged. The Crimson Tide if quite familiar with the nation’s top 10 as Bama has faced five of the other nine in the poll.
It will be a little bit of a breather this week on paper as Alabama has Senior Night hosting Iowa State at 7:30 p.m. CST Friday.
Bama posted its highest road score of the season, a 197.700 on Sunday at Georgia, which bettered its regional qualifying score by two-tenths of a point to a 197.285.
This week’s poll has Oklahoma, LSU and Florida taking the top three spots, followed by UCLA at No. 4 and Utah at No. 5. Georgia moved up to seventh, followed by Denver, Oregon State, and Boise State.
Alabama has defeated Florida, Georgia, and Boise State and fallen to Oklahoma and LSU this season.
The Crimson Tide is ranked in the top-five on all four events this week, taking third on the floor exercise, fourth on the balance beam and fifth on both the vault and uneven bars.
In national individual performances by Bama gymnasts, junior Kiana Winston is fourth in the all-around, fifth on the floor exercise, eighth on the balance beam and 15th on the uneven bars this week. Junior Nickie Guerrero is fourth on the balance beam while senior Aja Sims is 12th and freshman Maddie Desch is 19th on the floor exercise. Senior Katie Bailey is 17th on the vault and 24th on the uneven bars.
