ASHOF and PFHOF Trusts “Auburn Man” to Immortalize Alabama Legends

Alabama and Auburn have as a contentious rivalry as any two schools in the country. The twists and turns through the years would provide enough energy to rotate a recently popularized fidget spinner for a century. Designed to relieve stress, the gadget is a perfect device for people fixated on a subject such as the occasional drama associated between the two foes.

A Nashville (TN) businessman with a degree from Alabama’s fiercest rival, Auburn, actually immortalizes Crimson Tide legends for a living.  Jeff Padgett, of Icon Crystals, creates these magnificent awards.  Among his clients are the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Pro Football Hall of Fame, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.

He presented the prized possessions to the families of 2017 ASHOF posthumous inductees Ken Donahue, Jim Goosetree and Kevin Turner, on Saturday evening at the induction banquet held in Birmingham at the Sheraton Hotel.  Families of the late Ken Stabler and Derrick Thomas, posthumous inductees to the Canton, OH gridiron shrine were also recipients of Icon Crystals in 2016 and 2009.

BamaMag.com spoke to the creative entrepreneur last night after the events.  Watch as he explains his indoctrination and passion for the game.  Of course, the Tide and Tigers are inextricably intertwined in the comments.
