Alabama Football Coach at 2017 SEC Spring Meetings

Nick Saban addressed the assembled media on Tuesday afternoon before the football coaches met at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. The 2017 SEC Spring Meetings officially kicked-off today in Miramar Beach, Florida.

The Alabama Head Coach explained his position on a series of topics including the graduate transfer rules, hiring of high school coaches, recruiting calendar and staff size.  He is interested in hearing about the opinions and solutions with regards to the impending changes destined to influence college football.  Tide freshman reported Sunday and varsity players arrived on Monday according to Nick Saban.

“A lot of what happens in the summer has a lot to do with team chemistry that you develop.  It’s the time of year when the coaches aren’t always around the players,” replied Saban.  “The players work out with the strength and conditioning coaches for the most part in the summer.  I think leadership, the togetherness and the intangible things that the team needs to develop internally has a better chance to actually occur over the summertime when the coach is not always there to make it happen for them. We’re excited about that.”
