Kristy Curry led the Alabama women’s basketball program to their highest win total since 1997-98 (22-14). Next season they are aspiring to party like its 1999, the last year the program reached the promise land of an NCAA berth.

They established a program milestone by beating Tennessee three consecutive times in the series, twice last season.  Entering her fifth year in Tuscaloosa, the entire squad returns for the 2017-18 season.  Kristy Curry spoke to the media at the 2017 SEC Spring Meetings from the lobby of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Florida.  Two true freshman from the 2017 signing class, 5-7, Jayana Sanders (Pine Bluff, AR) and 6-3, Ariyah Copeland (Columbus, GA), join a trio of transfers, 6-3, Jasmine Walker (Montgomery, AL/Florida State), 6-0, Amber Richardson (Garner, NC/NC State) and 5-9, (Daijia Ruffin (Louisville, KY/UT Martin).

The move from Foster Auditorium, currently one of the finest practice facilities in the league, to playing games in Coleman Coliseum has positively affected recruiting.
