Alabama lands one of the top linebackers in the South, Quay Walker

Alabama hasn't landed a commitment in the class of 2018 since January, but it got a big boom publicly on Thursday with the pledge of four-star outside linebacker Quay Walker.

The Alabama Crimson Tide had long been considered the leader for Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County linebacker Quay Walker, who decided to end the process in early June with his pledge to Nick Saban and company.

The four-star outside linebacker, top five at his position in the South region's class of 2018, went public with the news Thursday with a video: he Tweeted.

Alabama was one of five SEC programs in the mix for his pledge, edging out GeorgiaFloridaAuburn and LSU for his services. Walker's decision brings Alabama's class to three pledges at this point and he is the second front-seven defender on the list, joining three-star Jordan Davis
