Although tight end Donald Clarke had six previous starts in his Alabama career, he had his first start of this season. He is the third different starting tight end this year. David Cavan, who has been the most-used tight end, did not play because of an injured hand.
Redshrt freshman Nic Luke made his college debut, playing on special teams. Brodie Croyle returned to action at quarterback and went the distance. Tailback Kenneth Darby also returned to action, but lasted only one play before being re-injured. Others who had missed the previous week and played were defensive end Nautyn McKay-Loescher, defensive tackle Kyle Tatum, and linebacker Derrick Pope. LéRon McClain returned to action, but only on special teams.
Although it was reported that true freshman defensive end Wallace Gilberry had played in the game, that was incorrect information.
Here are those who played with starters listed first. The number in parenthesis is the number of plays. If there are two numbers, the second is the number of plays on special teams.
