Castille Talks About his Commitment

Simeon Castille made his official announcement on national television at the HS U.S. Army All-America game in San Antonio, Texas. We caught up with Simeon after the game and he told us why he chose Alabama.

"There were a number of reasons why I chose Alabama," said Castille. "I felt like God was telling me where to go and where he wanted me to be. My family will be able to see me play. With my dad being the chaplain for the football team too, he would not be able to watch me. I have grown up an Alabama fan, and I have always liked them."

One of the burning questions... has he known all along where he wanted to go and Simeon replied, "No, I was really close to going to LSU, but I realized that Alabama was the best place for me."

With the announcement coming on national television, had Simeon called the Alabama coaches prior to the game and told them of his decision and he said, " No, I have not talked to them yet."

Another question on the minds of Alabama fans...would Simeon take any more official visits? Simeon said, "Probably not."

Simeon plans on playing cornerback at Alabama and the coaches have talked to him in a very positive manner about early playing time.

Simeon Castille is Tuscaloosa bound and will be a full qualifier with a 22 on the ACT.
